Choose a Bikini According to your Body Type


Spending a day at the beach, under the beautiful warmth of the sun, is an amazing way to relax and unwind. You could just lay there for hours and maybe read a book, or get a lovely tan from the sun or go for a swim in the ocean.

The go-to outfit for women, when going to the beach, is a bikini. The fashion industry has made a lot of progress in the last few decades in the swimwear category, and it has come a long way from the humble one piece bikini as once worn by Marilyn Monroe, to having so many sexy styles, and designs in one as well as two piece bikini

Now a lot of people feel that since they do not have the right type of body, they should avoid wearing bikinis. I say chuck that idea because we all are blessed with beautiful bodies, which are perfect in their own ways. And if you are still worried about people thinking you’re fat, and then all you need to do is, choose an outfit according to your body shape. Here I have some swimwear ideas for your body type.

  • Pear: If you’re lean at the top and heavier around the bottom, then wear designs, which are more detailed towards your top, and simple at the bottom. This way you would shift the focus from the lower part of your body, giving the illusion of a lean figure.
  • Apple: This figure is the opposite of pear shape, so wear designs, which will focus more on your lower body and look for bikinis, which have thick straps.    
  • Hourglass: Just like Kim Kardashian, you have a thin waist with a heavy upper and lower body. Look for high waist bikinis because they will draw the attention to the slimmest area – your waist.  
  • Straight: People having this body type are naturally lean and can wear designs, which focus on any part of their body. A two piece bikini looks very good in a straight body type.  

So, go out there and get yourself a bikini and then head straight down to the beach. Don’t forget your sunscreen though!
